The 7th World Landslide Forum (WLF7) will be held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University), Faridabad, India, from 23 to 27 November 2026

The WLF-7 provides an exceptional platform for experts, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the globe to come together, share their expertise, discuss the latest advancements, and collaborate on innovative strategies to mitigate and manage landslide risks.

Previous forums have been held every three years starting with the first forum in Tokyo, Japan (2008), followed by Rome, Italy (2011), Beijing, China (2014), Ljubljana, Slovenia (2017), Kyoto, Japan (2020/21), and Florence, Italy (2023).

A significant feature of WLF7 is its publications in the ICL Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology (P-LRT)” – indexed in Scopus.

Publication Opportunities

The ICL Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology (P-LRT)” editorial system for submission of WLF7 Thematic Issue Papers is now open at https://meteor.springer.com/ICL Researchers and practitioners worldwide are invited to contribute to the WLF7 Thematic Issue “Landslide Science and Practice for Safe and Resilient Communities” of P-LRT: Progress in Landslide Research and Technology, Volume 5 Issue 2, 2026.

Please use the P-LRT template shown in Programme – 7th World Landslide Forum and select “WLF7 Thematic Issue Article” in the above editorial system. The editorial system is for submitting “Papers” only and not “Abstracts”. Abstracts need to be submitted to papers@wlf7.org.

The Paper/Abstract submission deadline is 31 March 2026.

Proposals for Oral Sessions

Oral presentation sessions will be organized under each theme. Proposals are invited to organize oral sessions each with a minimum of six speakers. Please submit the proposals to the WLF7 Programme Committee at programmes@wlf7.org. Session Proposal deadline extended to January-15-2026

AIM

World Landslide Forums have been organized every three years since the first forum in Tokyo, Japan, in 2008. They serve as a common platform for scientists, engineers, practitioners, and policymakers involved in landslide disaster risk reduction to present their latest progress.

Theme of WLF7

The overarching theme of WLF7 is: “Landslide Science and Practice for Safe and Resilient Communities” in alignment with international commitments, including:

  • ISDR-ICL Sendai Partnerships 2015-2025
  • Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030

PLENARY LECTURES

Distinguished lectures will be delivered by scientists, engineers, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders working in the fields of landslide science, technology, and disaster risk reduction.
