Researchers and practitioners worldwide are invited to contribute to the WLF7 Thematic Issue “Landslide Science and Practice for Safe and Resilient Communities” of P-LRT: Progress in Landslide Research and Technology, Volume 5 Issue 2, 2026.

Please use the P-LRT template shown in Programme – 7th World Landslide Forum and select “WLF7 Thematic Issue Article” in the above editorial system.

The editorial system is for submitting “Papers” only and not “Abstracts”. Abstracts need to be submitted to papers@wlf7.org.

The Paper/Abstract submission deadline is 31 March 2026.

The Call for Paper/Abstract for the 7th World Landslide Forum is now open.

A significant feature of WLF7 is its publications in the ICL Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology (P-LRT)” – indexed in Scopus.

This book series serves as a global platform for publishing recent progress in landslide research and technology for the global promotion of understanding and reducing landslide disaster risk.

Thematic Issues on “Landslide Science and Practice for Safe and Resilient Communities” of P-LRT are organized for WLF7.

Researchers and practitioners worldwide are cordially invited to submit Papers/Abstracts to papers@wlf7.org by using the templates shown below. The Paper/Abstract submission deadline is March 2026.

Field Visits

As part of the 7th World Landslide Forum (WLF7), exclusive field visits will be organized to key landslide-prone regions in India.

Landslide Early Warning Systems & Active Landslides

  • Kerala – Explore early warning systems in the Western Ghats, a tropical mountainous landscape.
  • Sikkim – Experience real-time monitoring in a high-altitude Himalayan region.

Mega Landslide Disasters & Mitigation Strategies

  • Uttarakhand – Study past catastrophic landslides and ongoing mitigation efforts.
  • Himachal Pradesh – Analyze large-scale slope failures and risk reduction measures.
  • Wayanad – Examine the cascading impacts of landslides, floods, and debris flows over a 6 km runout.

Landslide Simulation & Experimental Studies

  • Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kerala – Witness India’s largest landslide simulation facility, designed for large-scale physical modelling and testing.
